Taking away from your free time and being more involved in any school activities. Or, if you are thinking about pledging for a certain fraternity or sorority. You might want to take a look at what these certain degrees involve if you are a college freshman coming out of high school. 2. Life Sciences – The life sciences major comes in at number two and has the second highest dropout rate. Some other reasons you might not be interested is once again the classes you will be taking. This degree will include biochemistry, anatomy, genetics, neuroscience, biology and many more . So now you know some of the classes you will have to take. This is why we have calculated this degree to come in at second on our list. The classes that have to be taken have a very high drop out rate and the GPA for these classes is usually a “C” grade. Which in turn will just add more stress if you are dealing with other tough academic classes.

3. Business & Management – There are many people that might say they want to own their own business. Well you might want to own your own business but getting a degree in Business & Management entails many more things than you might expect. The reason we have this listed as the third hardest major for college students. It is not just about a few finance and accounting classes that you might have to take. This degree is rated to take about the second longest average time for a student to complete and includes heavy writing for research papers and term papers. So not only will you take a few challenging courses. The time is the main factor in why we ranked this degree the third hardest for college students.

4. Physical sciences – If you are wanting to pursue a degree in Physical sciences. Once again this brings up the issue of the very difficult and tricky classes you will have to take. Just to name a few you would obviously have to take Physics, geology, and chemistry. So this can really put a strain on you and your GPA again. Also with many companies moving towards cleaner energy. This can make it even tough to find the right niche of work you would like to pursue after getting this degree.

5. Social/behavioral sciences – Many students might not think this would be in the top five but there are other routes to take to avoid some tough classes. This degree will include what are sometimes known as the “Soft academic sciences”. A few examples of these would be psychology, anthropology, and political science. Also you might think it would be very easy to find the right job for your specific desire. That is not exactly the case studies have shown that behavioral science has the fourth lowest full time employees.
